We’ve expanded our Photo Evidence feature, making it available across more food safety tasks in the Kitchen App.
Photo Evidence was already available for Pest Control and Maintenance tasks. Based on feedback and how customers are using the feature, we’ve now automatically added it to:
- Meat & Poultry
- Cooling (Standard)
- Reheating
This gives your team another way to provide clear evidence alongside their food safety records, all stored together in Chomp.
How photo evidence works
When completing a task with Photo Evidence enabled, your team can:
- Take a photo directly from their device
- Upload an existing photo
- Add more than one photo if needed
- Not upload or take a photo at all if it's not required; adding a photo is optional.
Viewing photos in ChompHQ
Any photos added to a task can be viewed in ChompHQ through Venue Activity, or under Alerts if the task has triggered an issue.
From here, managers can review the photos alongside the rest of the task information.
Adding photos to your Audit Report
By default, Photo Evidence isn't automatically included in your audit report.
From ChompHQ, you can choose whether individual photos should be included, giving you control over which evidence is shared as part of your audit records.
Where Photo Evidence is available in your audit report, you'll see a camera icon indicating that a photo has been attached. If the icon is orange, this indicates an issue was recorded against the task.

We know Photo Evidence could be useful for plenty of other food safety tasks too.

- Photograph a thermometer reading when completing a Calibration
